How to install a blogger template

Unzip the downloaded main.xml (whatever the file's name is) file
Log in to your Blogger Dashboard.
Click the "DESIGN" link on the Dashboard.
Click the "Edit HTML" link in tab bar.
*Important*Download full template to save a copy of your present template (just in case )*Important*
Go to the template designer and choose the Simple Template and click apply to
blog link.
Click on the back to Blogger Link.
Click on the Edit html link.
You should now see a picture that says Backup Restore template as in the
image below.
Put a check on the expand widgets templates box
Browse for main.xml (Whatever the file's name is) on your local drive.
Click the "Upload" button.
(please ignore error messages, if any)
Confirm and Save.
If everything has gone right, your blog should now exhibit your new beautiful template.
